Happy Saturday !

Happy Saturday!  We are so excited for spring, warmer temperatures, and finally being able to get the learners outside for some fresh air and recess breaks.  With the warmer temperatures, the field may get messy and wet.  So please keep that in mind, with your child's outside gear.  Please, please, please, ensure that your child  has an emergency set of clothes in their backpacks including an extra pair of pants and socks just in case their clothes get wet.

The students loved participating in their inline skating lessons.  Many of the learners shared that they felt really nervous the first day of skating, and many of the learners fell during their skating lessons. However, we really encouraged all the students to keep trying and to have fun learning a new skill.  It was really great to see their confidence grow as they learned a new skill.

Both AM & PM classes have done several mini field trips to our school Maker Space now.  We are encouraging all of our learners to think of themselves as young engineers because they are all involved in making or building something.  Sometimes it can be frustrating for a young learner when a project or design isn't working they way you want it too.  We have taken these opportunities  or teachable moments for teaching resilience to our learners.  This is an important life skill that will benefit all of the leaners.  Time in the Maker Space has also been a great opportunity for our learners to practice team work.

Yesterday, the PM class enjoyed working with the students from Mrs. Steckly's class.  We enjoyed learning and playing a new math game.  The PM class were also thrilled to spend some time with our big grade 3 buddies, making a special St. Patrick's Day craft and reading together.  It was a fun morning of learning and collaboration.

Please enjoy some pictures of our learning.

Warm Regards
Mrs. Lai
