Hello Kindergarten Parents,
During the past week, all of the Kindergarten classrooms have been very busy and engaged reading, singing and acting out the poem the Five Little Pumpkins.
The children all love this poem so very much! We have seen very high interest and engagement in all of our learners each day as we sing the poem together.
Reading the poem, The Five Little Pumpkins, at school each day has been such a powerful teaching opportunity. It has also become our very first collaborative project with the other Kindergarten classes. The learners all created a special pumpkin for our Wall story and we have posted their art creations beside our poem to provide multiple opportunities for our learners to practice reading this poem each day.
Our goal at this point in the year is to encourage all of the children to see themselves as readers and to allow them to increase their confidence in their reading skills. We also want the learners to love reading!
Reading our pumpkin wall story, together each day is providing a meaningful and fun reading opportunity for all of our learners. Please enjoy some pictures of our learning.
5 Little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "My, it's getting late!"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "We'll run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "Let's have some fun!"
"WOOOOOO!" went the wind...
and OUT went the light....
and the five little pumpkins....
rolled out of sight!
