It's been a very, very busy week in Kindergarten. Here are a few updates on our learning.
We read a fantastic story in school this week, called Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns It's OK to Back Away. It is a social story, about learning to manage our emotions. We discovered, that sometimes everyone feels angry and that it's ok to feel angry. However, we also learned that when we feel angry we need to back away so we don't make a bad choice. We also reviewed some things we can do to calm down, and help us feel better.
Our school nurse, came to visit the p.m. class. She read a great story called "William: Won't You Wash Your Hands?" We did a science investigation with glow germ to see how germs spread. We discovered that proper hand washing is very important, especially during cold and flu season. Unfortunately, our school nurse is busy next week. However, she did leave her Glow Germ kit with us, so the morning will also have a chance to do the experiments with me in class next week.
Thursday morning, the AM class enjoyed getting together with our big grade four buddies, playing some math games with them and reading some books. It was a great way to end our week. We love our reading buddies :)
Just a friendly reminder, the PM class will go to the library on Monday. The AM class goes to the library every Thursday.
