Marvelous Monday!!!

Hello Kindergarten Families!   It was nice to touch base with so many of you last week during Parent- Teacher Conferences.  Thank you for taking the time to meet with me.  For those of you who were unable to make it, a big focus of our learning this month has been focused on rhyming.  Children who have strong rhyming skills become strong readers.  So we have been singing, reading and doing a variety of activities around rhyming.  Here are a few of our favorite rhyming songs:
  • I Love to Rhyme by Jack Hartman
  • Exercise, Rhyme and Freeze by Jack Hartman
  • Down by the Bay
There are also a lot of wonderful rhyming books available at the public library or a local book store.  Here are a few rhyming books your child will enjoy:
Today the learners were very excited about the snow.  We all enjoyed learning a new math song about 5 Little Snowman and we had fun acting out the song as a class.  We also enjoyed drawing snowman together and using kid spelling to help us describe what our snowmen were wearing.  Some learners even enjoyed creating snowmen during center time.  Please enjoy some pictures of our learning.

Warm regards,
Mrs. Lai
